Legal
Terms of sale
Version of 23 October 2026.
1. Who we are and who sells
These terms are between you and Iulian Maracineanu ("we", "us"), natural person, author and licensor of the software, Romania. We wrote Nucleum Hub and we license it to you. Our address and all the ways to reach us are on the legal notice.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles questions about orders, payments and invoices, and pays all refunds.
In practice:
- Paddle sells you the licence, takes the payment, charges VAT or sales tax, issues your receipt and invoice, and pays back every refund. Questions about a payment or an invoice: paddle.net or help@paddle.com.
- We make the software and give you the licence key, the activation, the updates and the technical support. You can also send us a withdrawal, a refund request, a cancellation or a complaint: we deal with it and, where money goes back, Paddle pays it.
Three documents work together. Paddle's buyer terms cover the purchase from Paddle. Our licence agreement (EULA) covers the use of the software. These terms add what we promise you ourselves; where we promise more than Paddle's terms, our promise applies, and the rules of law that protect consumers always apply.
A consumer is a natural person who buys for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. Some rules below are for consumers only, and we say so; everything else applies to everyone.
2. Before you buy: the key facts
- What you buy: a licence for Nucleum Hub, a wall dashboard for Home Assistant, as a monthly subscription or as a one-time licence. Both unlock the same software, with every feature.
- How many homes: one licence covers one home, which means one Home Assistant installation, with as many screens and users as you like, plus one test installation.
- What you need (compatibility): a working Home Assistant on which you can add an integration (through HACS or from a zip file), a browser on each screen, and an internet connection for Home Assistant now and then, for the licence checks. The minimum versions, the browsers and the devices we test on are on the requirements page.
- How the licence is checked (technical protection): you paste your key once, in Home Assistant. The integration activates it for your home, receives a signed licence and checks it itself. It also asks our server: about once a day for the monthly subscription and the test installation, about once a week for the one-time licence. The one-time licence needs one successful check after its first 14 days and then also works without the internet. Without a valid licence, Nucleum Hub shows only the screen to activate a licence; your home keeps working in Home Assistant and its app.
- Price: €5 a month or €49.99 once, before tax. Paddle adds the VAT or sales tax of your country; the pricing page shows the final price for your country when Paddle can work it out there, and the checkout always shows it before you pay (section 4).
- Payment: through Paddle's checkout, with the payment methods it offers you. Delivery: your licence key comes by e-mail right after payment.
- Duration: the monthly subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it, which you can do at any time, online and without signing in (section 7). The one-time licence does not end.
- Withdrawal: as a consumer you have 14 days to withdraw, on both plans, and you get back everything you paid (section 10). We do not ask you to give up this right.
- Legal guarantee: the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services applies to Nucleum Hub (section 12).
- Updates: with the monthly subscription, every new version while it runs. With the one-time licence, every new version for one year, then the security fixes of its long-term support (LTS) line. Each LTS line gets security fixes for at least 5 years from its first release: LTS 1.0, the line at launch, until at least November 2031. Later lines and their dates are on the releases page.
- Support: included, by e-mail and through the support form, in English and Romanian (section 11).
- Complaints: to us first, then to ANPC's dispute resolution service (section 11).
3. How the contract is made
- On the pricing page you choose a plan. The payment page names the plan and its price, links to these terms, the EULA, the refund rules and the privacy notice, and asks you to accept the terms and the EULA (section 18).
- Paddle's checkout opens. There you give your e-mail address, your country and your payment details, see the final price with tax, and can correct anything you typed before you pay.
- The contract is made when Paddle confirms your payment. Paddle sends you a receipt by e-mail, and we send you your licence key by e-mail, right after the payment.
For each purchase, the version of these terms and of the EULA that you accepted is recorded with your order. With your licence key, in the same e-mail, we send you that version of these terms, of the EULA and of the withdrawal rules (with the model withdrawal form), as a PDF you can keep. Every version is also published here with its date, and on request we send you again the one that applied to your purchase. You can save or print this page. The contract can be made in any language in which this site publishes these terms.
4. Plans and prices
| Plan | Price before tax | How you pay | New versions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly subscription | €5 a month. Launch offer: €3 a month for the first 3 months, then €5 a month, for the first 50 subscribers | Renews automatically every month until you cancel | Every version released while it runs |
| One-time licence | €49.99 | Once | Every version released in the year after the purchase; after it, the security fixes of its LTS line |
Prices are in euros, before VAT or sales tax. Paddle adds the tax of your country to them; the pricing page shows the final price for your country, with the amount of tax, when Paddle can work it out there. The price that applies to you is the one shown in the Paddle checkout before you pay. A business with a valid VAT number pays without VAT where the rules allow; Paddle issues the invoice.
The launch offer is for new monthly subscriptions only. It ends when its 50 places are taken: the counter on the pricing page shows the places left, as our server counts them, and Paddle applies the limit at checkout. It has no minimum period: you can cancel at any time, as with any subscription, and nothing is charged for cancelling. If the subscription ends, the offer ends with it; a new subscription pays €5 a month before tax, unless an offer place is still left then. We do not show a struck-through price unless we really charged it before.
5. The free trial and the demo
The trial lasts 60 minutes, counted by the clock from the moment you add the integration to Home Assistant. It is free, needs no card and no e-mail, and gives you every feature on your own home. It needs the internet once, to start. There is one trial per Home Assistant installation and one per home; our server remembers it for 12 months after it ends, so reinstalling in that time does not start it again.
When the trial ends, Nucleum Hub shows only the screen to activate a licence, with a button to Home Assistant; your home keeps working in Home Assistant and its app. A licence key brings everything back, with your setup as you left it.
The trial never turns into a paid plan by itself. Nothing is charged and nothing renews unless you buy a plan.
The demo at demo.nucleumhub.com is a made-up house in your browser, free, with nothing to install and no account.
During the trial and the demo, help comes from the documentation and the community.
6. Your licence
The licence agreement (EULA) says what you may do with the software. In short: one home, unlimited screens and users, one test installation; restoring a Home Assistant backup keeps your licence; you can move it to new hardware yourself up to 3 times in 12 months, and more through support; a one-time licence can be passed on to someone else through support.
7. The monthly subscription: renewal and cancelling
- It renews automatically every month; you can cancel at any time. Each month Paddle charges the payment method you used, at the price in force then (section 9). With the launch offer, the first 3 payments are €3 each before tax, and the payments after them €5.
- How to cancel: on Cancel your subscription here (the link is at the bottom of every page, no sign-in needed), in Paddle's customer portal, from the link in Paddle's e-mails about your subscription, or by e-mail to support@nucleumhub.com. No phone call, no letter.
- Ordinary cancellation stops the next renewal. The subscription runs to the end of the month you paid for, or to a later date you choose, with every feature. Monthly renewals are not refunded when you change your mind. If you do not choose a date, it ends at the earliest possible date: the end of the month you paid for.
- Cancelling for an important reason (extraordinary cancellation): tell us the reason in a few words. We reply by e-mail with the date the subscription ends and any money that comes back to you.
- Cancelling within 14 days of your first payment, through our page or by e-mail, gives you that payment back in full and ends the licence and the subscription at once. If you would rather keep the month you paid for, reply to our confirmation before we refund it. Cancelling in Paddle's customer portal only stops the renewal; to get your money back within those 14 days, use Withdraw from contract here or the withdrawal button in Paddle's portal.
- Your confirmation: when you cancel on our page, we confirm at once by e-mail what you sent, the date and time we received it, and the date your subscription ends. When you cancel by e-mail, we send the same confirmation within 2 working days.
- If a payment fails, Paddle tries again and e-mails you a link to pay. Your licence keeps working for 7 days, with a band on the screen that says so. If the 7 days pass without a payment, the licence stops, Paddle ends the subscription, and we send you one e-mail to say so.
- When the subscription ends, Nucleum Hub shows only the screen to activate a licence. A subscription keeps no version for later; a new subscription or a one-time licence brings everything back, with your setup as you left it.
8. The one-time licence
- You pay once and may use the software forever, on one home. You get every version released in the year after your purchase.
- After that year you keep, forever, every version released during it. Security fixes then come for the LTS line that started on or before the end of your year, for at least 5 years from that line's first release. If you run a newer version that is not on that line, the dashboard tells you, and you reinstall your LTS version from HACS.
- We may later offer another year of updates for sale. Its price is not set yet; when we offer it, it will have its own 14 days of withdrawal from its purchase.
- A later price rise never applies to a licence you already bought.
- We do not ask you to give up your right of withdrawal, even though you can use the software at once: you keep the 14 days of section 10.
- For its first 14 days the licence is temporary. After them it needs one successful check with our server, within 90 days; from then on it is permanent and works without the internet. If Home Assistant never reaches our server in those 90 days, Nucleum Hub asks you to connect it, to confirm your licence. A permanent licence is never switched off automatically. It ends only after a refund (for example when you end the contract under the legal guarantee), after a payment taken back through your bank, or after a serious breach of the EULA (EULA, section 17).
- If we ever stop for good, we publish a final version without the licence check (EULA, section 16).
9. Price changes
We may change prices for new purchases at any time; the price shown in the checkout before you pay is the one that applies. If you have a monthly subscription, we tell you about a new price by e-mail at least 30 days before it applies to your next payment, and you can cancel before it does. A one-time licence you bought is never affected by a later price change.
10. Withdrawal and money back
- Consumers: you may withdraw within 14 days of your purchase, without giving a reason, on both plans. You get back everything you paid, with no deduction for the days you used the software.
- Businesses: we give you the same 14 days money back on your first payment.
- Monthly renewals are not refunded when you change your mind; a cancellation takes effect at the end of the month you paid for (section 7). Your rights under the legal guarantee (section 12) and under sections 13 and 17 are not affected.
- After a refund the licence ends, and so does the subscription if it is one: Nucleum Hub shows only the screen to activate a licence. Your setup stays in Home Assistant.
The details, the model withdrawal form and every way to ask are on Refunds and withdrawal. To withdraw online: Withdraw from contract here.
11. Support and complaints
- Support is part of every paid licence; it is not a separate paid service. The reply times below are our targets.
- Write to support@nucleumhub.com, use the form on the support page, or send feedback from the dashboard (Settings › About).
- Target for the first reply: 2 working days; the same working day if the dashboard stops loading or editing is blocked by mistake. During the trial and the demo, help comes from the documentation and the community.
- We answer in English and Romanian, and every answer is checked and sent by a person. You may write in any of the 12 languages of the dashboard; for the other ten we also use AI translation, and we say so.
- Orders, payments and invoices: Paddle, at paddle.net or help@paddle.com.
- Complaints: write to support@nucleumhub.com with "Complaint" in the subject. Our target for a first reply is 2 working days, and we give you our answer within 30 days at the latest. If we cannot settle it, we tell you so by e-mail, and you can turn to ANPC's alternative dispute resolution service, reclamatiisal.anpc.ro, in which we agree to take part, or go to court. The EU's online dispute resolution platform closed on 20 July 2025.
12. Legal guarantee, updates and safety
- As a consumer you have the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and digital services (in Romania, Government Emergency Ordinance 141/2021). The software must be as described, fit for its purpose, secure, and kept up to date with the updates, security updates included, that you can reasonably expect.
- How long: for the monthly subscription, for as long as it runs, and for that time we have to prove that the software was fine, not you. For the one-time licence, a defect that existed when you received the software or an update counts if it shows within 5 years; if it shows within the first year, we have to prove that the software was fine, not you.
- What you get: first, we repair the software free of charge, within a time we agree with you by e-mail and never more than 15 calendar days from when you told us about the defect. If we cannot or do not, or the defect is so serious that a repair is not enough, you can ask for a lower price or, unless the defect is minor, end the contract and get your money back, through Paddle, within 14 days and without fees.
- How to claim: write to support@nucleumhub.com, saying what does not work. A diagnostics file from the dashboard (Settings › About) helps, but is never required.
- Each LTS line gets security fixes for at least 5 years from its first release, and its end date is on the releases page.
- For a version you keep after the year of updates of a one-time licence, we repair free of charge any breakage caused by a new stable Home Assistant release, for at least 24 months from the first release of its LTS line.
- Our target is to fix a vulnerability that is being exploited within 72 hours. Report one to security@nucleumhub.com.
- Nucleum Hub shows and controls what your Home Assistant shows and controls. It does not replace your alarm keypad or your keys: keep another way to disarm the alarm and open the doors.
13. Changes to the software during a subscription
We improve Nucleum Hub all the time, and a subscription gets every new version. We may also change or remove a feature for a valid reason, such as a change in Home Assistant, security or the law, at no cost to you. If a change has more than a minor negative effect on your access to or use of Nucleum Hub, we tell you by e-mail, reasonably in advance, what changes and when, and that you may end the subscription. You can then end it free of charge within 30 days of our e-mail or of the change, whichever is later, and you get back, through Paddle, what you paid for the time after the end.
14. Liability
Towards consumers we answer as the law provides, and we do not limit our liability. Nothing in these terms or in the EULA limits or excludes a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for defective products, for death or personal injury, or for intent or gross negligence, nor your rights as a consumer. Towards businesses, the EULA (section 15) sets a limit.
15. Using this website
- This website describes Nucleum Hub and lets you buy it. Its texts, images and logo are ours unless marked otherwise. You may link to any page and quote it fairly; please do not copy the site or present it as yours.
- Please do not misuse the forms (spam, automated messages, attacks). They are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile and by limits on how many messages can be sent.
- Links to other sites (Paddle, GitHub, ANPC) lead to pages we do not control.
- We work to keep the site accurate. If a price on the site differs from the Paddle checkout, the price shown in the checkout before you pay is the one that applies.
- This website sets no cookies of its own. Only on the payment page, Paddle's checkout uses its own cookies, under Paddle's privacy notice. The details are in Privacy and cookies.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The new version, with its date, is published on this page. The terms in force when you bought apply to that purchase. If you have a monthly subscription and a change affects you, we tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before it does.
17. Transfer to a company
We may transfer our contracts with you to a company controlled by the author of Nucleum Hub. We tell you by e-mail at least 30 days before. Your rights stay the same, and the author stays answerable to you together with the company. If you do not want the transfer, you can end the contract before it takes effect and get back what you paid for any time of a subscription that is left (EULA, section 18).
18. Clauses to read before you accept
Romanian law asks that some kinds of clauses in standard terms are accepted expressly (Civil Code, art. 1203). Before you pay, the payment page asks you to tick a box to accept these terms and the EULA, naming the clauses below; the payment button stays inactive until you tick it. These are the clauses of that kind:
- the automatic monthly renewal of the subscription (section 7);
- the end of a licence for a serious breach, and after a payment taken back through your bank (EULA, section 17);
- the limit of our liability towards businesses (EULA, section 15);
- the transfer of the contract to a company (section 17);
- the applicable law and the courts (section 19).
19. Law, courts and language
Romanian law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer living in another country, you keep the protection that the mandatory rules of your country give you. As a consumer you can bring a claim before the courts of Romania or of the country where you live, and we can bring one against you only before the courts where you live. For businesses, the courts of Romania that are competent for the author's domicile decide.
These terms are written in English and translated into the other languages of this site. If a translation differs from the English text, the version that is more favourable to you applies.
