Troubleshooting

The messages Nucleum Hub shows, what they mean and what to do. The quoted text is exactly what you see on the screen.

“Waiting for Home Assistant”

The screen started while it could not reach Home Assistant. It keeps your saved layout, never saves an empty page over it, and tells you why:

  • “This browser is not signed in to Home Assistant.” Open Home Assistant in this browser, sign in and stay signed in (“Keep me logged in”).
  • “This browser’s Home Assistant login has expired.” Open Home Assistant in this browser and sign in again.
  • “Home Assistant does not answer.” Check that Home Assistant is running and that the screen is on its network. The dashboard keeps trying by itself.

Editing waits until Home Assistant is connected: “Editing is available once Home Assistant is connected”.

“Not connected to Home Assistant”

The connection dropped while the screen was running. Your dashboard is kept as it is, and it comes back by itself as soon as Home Assistant answers, without reloading the page.

“Saved on this device only (HA user is not an administrator)”

This screen is signed in with a Home Assistant user that is not an administrator. Its changes stay on this screen and never overwrite the common dashboard. To change the common dashboard, edit from an administrator account.

“Another screen saved over a change made here”

Two screens changed the same thing. The newer change wins; yours is kept in History, on the edit bar, ready to bring back.

“Another device runs a newer version”

One of your screens already runs a newer Nucleum Hub. Update this one to keep syncing.

The energy flow goes the wrong way

Some grid or battery sensors count the other way round, so the flow shows the battery discharging while it charges. On the Energy page, open the sensors window (“Energy sensors, directions and prices”) and turn on the direction switch for the grid or the battery. You can also pick another sensor there; under each one you see what it reads now.

The music queue shows only two tracks

  • “Full list needs the Music Assistant add-on (HA OS)”: the full history and queue come from the Music Assistant add-on on Home Assistant OS. Without it, the queue shows the current and the next track.
  • “The full list needs a Home Assistant administrator account.” Sign this screen in with an administrator account to see the full list.
  • The library, search and playback need only Home Assistant’s Music Assistant integration.

No battery next to the clock

“This browser does not report its battery”: Fully Kiosk does, and so do other browsers over https. Otherwise choose the tablet’s sensors from the Home Assistant Companion app: in edit mode, tap the battery next to the clock.

A room or a device is missing

  • Room cards come from your Home Assistant areas. Put the device in an area in Home Assistant, then reload the screen.
  • Any device can also be added by hand, in edit mode, to the card you want.

A state shows in English

Device states use Home Assistant’s own translations, in the language of the dashboard. Where Home Assistant has no translation in that language, Nucleum Hub shows what Home Assistant shows, usually English. For robots, where Home Assistant has only English, Nucleum Hub uses its own words, in all 12 languages.
